Combines the tracks from Pflaphpschoen's debut mini-album Championship Stockbrokering (HWRPF11 - April 2001) with a selection of other material (original cut-up works plus liberal remixes of the likes of Al Jolson and Frank Sinatra) from 2000-2002. Mahler, Su Pollard, and Derek & Clive merge together to form a work of great beauty in "The Tyger", while "Shower" recalls Chris Morris's Blue Jam, and the Girl Guides remixes bring tears of pleasure to the eyes.
Also this month, Pflaphpschoen reworks John Craven's SOULS WE DRY CLEANED BEFORE for the soundtrack to the film JULIE BURCHILL: WRATH OF THE GODS.

(excerpt) / Big Muddah Routledge Talkin' Bout a Whole Lotta Paranoia (rough cut) / Good Clean Analogue Fun / Alarum! (My Name's Trevor Brooking) (Rough Cut) / Julie Burchill Trailer
EWX30030416102 - CD (jewel case) - 67'03"
This is the four-part piece that made up Pflaphpschoen's fourth LP, If I Was The Only Boy In The World And Ned Sherrin Was Probably The Only Other One (HWRPF34 - July 2002) packaged alongside a selection of cut-ups, field recordings and tunrntable works from 2001/2. The title track abuses Monty Python and Black Sabbath in ways that are probably treasonable, and you will never be able to think of Trevor Brooking in the same way again.
May '03 (cd - EWX30030516103) EASY UNLISTENING

EWX30030516103 - CD (jewel case) - 75'35"
Earwax have teamed up with Halfwit Records to release Pflaphpschoen's latest album, with Halfwit putting out the limited edition box-set version (HWRPF37/8) and Earwax releasing the CD alternative (complete with three bonus tracks taken from the Yes, but what you're forgetting is that we're out of practice EP (HWRPF36) ). Including collaborations with W.T.Taschet and John Craven, and remixes of The Who and Gracie Fields, this full length CD (which contains 45 minutes of new, previously unreleased material) takes Pflaphpschoen's cut-up and keep music into breathtaking new territory - the un-nerving epic "Uncle Peter" and the beautiful two-parter of "les stations-service de Cherbourg" being stand-out tracks. Computer-voiced stories in the same mould as Championship Stockbrokering's "Shower" and "The Tyger" take centre stage on this excellently engineered piece of plastic.

EWX30050516104 - CD (jewel case) - 78'39"
Pflaphpschoen's fourth Earwax release précis their output of the last two years into a jam-packed CD of stuff. The majority of material is lifted from the mini-cd Benned (HWRPF39 - May 2003) and the 10" EP Monocle (HWRPF46 - Aug 2004), although there's also a large number of tracks from their sixth LP Two Films (HWRPF40 - Aug 2003) and their latest Halfwit offering The Story of a Man (HWRPF49 - May 2005). The disc darts around from noise pieces to radio cut-ups before stopping for tea with the comfortable familiarity of the computer voice. For a one-item insight into Pflaphpschoen's 2004 sound, Benned & Monocled is the disc to seek out.
