| The
tracking shots with Stew.
The conversation between Ant and Chris by the lake (but not Leon on the roof, which was old footage but computer processed). Parts of the compscis walking home. The follow-up to Alex waking up. Evan Pru was re-shot. One or two extra lines of dialogue in Ray. The dinner sequences. Leon and the goose, and all that waterfowl stuff with Chris. Kevin. The TV Room (but not the Gaynor Barnes footage). Some of Alex's capture was re-shot. Some more dialogue in Ray. Everything
else was stuff that was filmed for the original series but never used.
Stew
- Ewan McGregor
Jean
Reno wasn't used in the Ray reshoots. He turned up one weekend to do the
Vanbrugh and dorm scenes.

| The
circumstances of Ms Landau's disappearence from set are hotly debated here.
The rumour in chief is that she got fed up with the slow pace of filming
eating into her schedule and so she went off to make a film. Another rumour
is that SJ sacked her because he was unhappy with her English accent, and
found someone else who he preferred. But if it's the latter, we've yet
to see a replacement around here.
Meanwhile,
filming is on hold over Christmas. We're expecting to reconvene in February.

| Is
there any truth in the story that Guy Pearce threatened to leave if Juliet
Landau stayed (or for any other reason)? I read that there was a big disagreement
beween SJ and Pearce, and that's why he wasn't in Episode 0.

| Guy
wasn't in Episode 0 mainly because he had other filming commitments. This
was known in advance, and so nothing had been scripted for him anyway.
It's true that things have been pretty edgy on the Babysham set. Hutch is right - it's not the smoothest shoot ever. But I'm not aware of Guy ever threatening to walk out. I know
early on that Alexis Denisoff was considered for the part of Babysham on
the offchance that Guy might not be able to get involved, but then Guy
committed to the project on the understanding that Hollywood work would
take preference. That's the main reason why the programme is so long in
the making.

| I've
heard tell that Pooky Quesnel is to be involved. She used to be in Family
Affairs and an ad for British Gas. She's currently wiping fat off her leg
to persuade us against smoking. Maybe she's going to be replacing Landau?

| Pooky
Quesnel IS scheduled to be on set in the next lot of shooting, and Juliet
Landau isn't, but that's not to say that Quesnel is replacing Landau. I
don't think Quesnel would really be suited to the role, but I could be
proved wrong.

| There
IS a character that's been read by someone in Family Affairs, yes. SJ was
after someone from an advert, but he's probably going to settle with this
Family Affairs actress.

| So
it's official. We're getting a series! And three episodes are filmed so
far, apparently. Expect to see the first some time in the Autumn. I'll
put a cast list up just as soon as I can find one.

| So
I guess the Jason Donovan rumour was really true. It worries me slightly
if he's the baddy.
There's
only one Family Affairs person there, I notice. Wasn't there supposed to
be another one?

| Don't
worry about Jason, Dan. You've nothing to fear there.
The other role with potential Family Affairs casting is that now occupied by Lauren LaVerne. And Steve Buscemi plays the barman we were on about a couple of pages back. Oh, and yes, of course it's Barnie :) That cast list is only for the first episode by the way. It's missing some major characters as a result. Also,
Pookie still has to reshoot most of the Landau scenes.

| None
of you read the Observer magazine? There was an interview with Amelia Bullmore
(she of Coronation Street, Jam, Alan Partridge and State of Play) in which
she alluded to a forthcoming role in a certain spin-off series.
"I'm playing this vampish baddy who causes the main character to break down during sex. We got to screw on a gravestone in the middle of a thunder storm. It was very exciting in a seedy sort of way. But I caught a cold as a result, if you're wondering why I'm a bit snotty." --Lazlo32
